Principal's Message
I would like to welcome you to Bonnyville Off Campus School. BOCS is a unique school that offers students a chance to excel at education. BOCS is more than a school that focuses on only the academic needs of students. Many students can be overwhelmed and lost in traditional school settings. At BOCS we help students with all aspects of their life and focus on getting our students to graduation.
Students work to receive a regular high school diploma, just as they would in a traditional school; we just change the method and style in which we deliver instruction. Through individual flexible schedules, students can work at a pace suited to their particular learning style. Students attend seminars in subject areas, discussion groups, and classes that focus on developing a broad range of academic skills and social aptitudes. With expert staff available to work with students in small groups or one on one, students are better able to complete the requirements they need to graduate.
At BOCS, one of the accomplishments that we are most proud of is our school's High School Graduation rate. Currently, 97% of our grade twelve class complete the requirements set out by Alberta Education and earn an Alberta High School Diploma. We have had a graduating class of over 20 students each year for the past several years and that number continues to climb. Our grads choose to travel down a variety of paths when they graduate and leave us, but one thing remains constant…whether they choose to go on to college, or enter the work force - we know they will have what it takes to find success!
